Men's Gymnastics

Our men's team is small but mighty! We focus our attention on each and every athlete understanding that they are at different skill levels and needing help to varying degrees. Men's artistic gymnastics is a challenging and growing more and more in popularity. This sport combines strength, flexibility, and creativity to perform difficult exercises on six apparatuses:

Floor
Gymnasts use the entire floor for tumbling, acrobatics, balance, and strength. This includes rotating flips, like forward or backward takeoffs, as well as non-acrobatic elements like balancing on one arm or leg.

Pommel Horse
Gymnasts perform circular movements, pendulous swings, and flairs.

Rings
Gymnasts use strength and swinging elements, as well as control and balance. For example, they might perform a cross, inverted cross, or swallow or Maltese cross. The rings must remain still during the routine, and gymnasts are penalized for unnecessary swings or instability.

Vault
Gymnasts use power, aerial skills, and height and distance. A good vault includes height, distance, acceleration, and a firm, stuck landing without extra steps.

Parallel Bars
Gymnasts use their strength and agility to move from one side of the apparatus to the other.

Horizontal Bar
Gymnasts use their strength and agility to perform exercises on the horizontal bar.

In addition to the six apparatuses, gymnasts also compete in combined exercises, known as the all-around, which combine the scores from the other six events. The all-around can be competed on both an individual and team basis.
